Movie review: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter is all grown up. Gone is that cute little kid, devoured by some skinny and greasy teenager. Where the fuck did time go? Anyway, I have been to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prins and I liked it. Potter still kicks ass like the “chosen one” he is supposed to be. I can’t really compare with the book because it has been a while since I read it and details are a bit foggy (thats what alcohol and drugs do for you). But for as far as I can remember they did a decent job. All the important subplots are there. There is humour, drama (because ‘you know who’ bites the dust, this time only in the movie), some serious snogging and sensation in the form of big asswoopin’ mumbo jumbo flying round. That said, this is sure as hell not a kiddymovie anymore. The lady I attended with almost punctured my eardrums during a ‘sudden’ moment of suspension. And another thing this movie differs in is that this time there is no happy ending. Everything is going batshit crazy. People are dying, things change, and everybody is scared shitless. And now we have to wait a whole nother year to see how this is gonna end and that is just lame (shut up, I know most people read the books).
